(Waupun) A Waupun man has been convicted in connection to an overdose death. A Fond du Lac County jury found Dylan Mayne guilty of First-Degree Reckless Homicide following a five-day trial.
The 27-year-old provided the fentanyl to the victim in May of 2023, which led to their death and a second person overdosing. The second individual was med flighted to a Madison hospital and survived.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says too many families continue to suffer from the devastating effects of fentanyl and opioids. He adds that they will continue to work with their federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to aggressively prosecute those that distribute poison in the community.
A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered, and Mayne is due back in court on June 13th.
