(Waupun) A Waupun man has been convicted in connection to an overdose death. A Fond du Lac County jury found Dylan Mayne guilty of First-Degree Reckless Homicide following a five-day trial. The 27-year-old provided the fentanyl to the victim in May of 2023, which led to their death and a second person overdosing. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered, and Mayne is due back in court on June 13th.โ€ฏ 

(Columbus) Work on Highway 73 in Columbus is set to begin next Monday. Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials say the bulk of construction will include mill and overlay along with updated curb ramps along 73 between Faith Drive and Middleton Street. The project is slated for completion in August.

(Beaver Dam) There is a new alderperson in Beaver Dam. The common council last night swore-in Christopher Ganske to the vacant District 11 seat. The seat had been filled by Kay Appenfeldt who decided not to seek reelection in the spring and no one from the district chose to run.โ€ฏDistrict 11 is in the northwest corner of Beaver Dam, bounded on the west by the lake and on the south by Denning Avenue.ย 

(Watertown) The community is encouraged to gather at the Watertown municipal building and the police department next week for the annual Midnight Piper event. A bagpiper performs โ€œAmazing Graceโ€ to honor fallen law enforcement officers across Wisconsin. The event starts around 11:55pm on May 13th.

(Waupun) Waupun Mayor Rohn Bishop says a goal since taking office was to move back to the cityโ€™s branding of being the โ€œCity of Sculpture.โ€ The city has one of the highest concentrations of public art per capita in the United States. Bishop says the city changed its logo to reflect its heritage of sculptures along with its wayfinding signs. A local nonprofit has also started a winter festival to raise funds to bring in rotating art exhibits to the city.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
