(Dodge County) Jobless claims in the region saw a slight dip in the month of December. The state department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2-percent in the twelfth month of 2022 which is down from the 2.2-percent the county saw in November.
Last year, the number was 1.9-percent. Dodge County jumped seven spots in the statewide unemployment ranking to 14th.
Columbia County saw a drop as well with their jobless numbers at 2-percent, a decrease of three-tenths of a percent from their November figure. The number last year was 2-percent.
Jefferson County’s unemployment rate also reported a three-tenths decrease from November to December at 2-percent. In 2021, it was 2-percent as well.
Fond du Lac County went from a 2.2-percent jobless rate in November to 1.8-percent in December. The number was exactly the same a year ago.
Statewide unemployment numbers in December were 3.2-percent, down one-tenth of a percent from November.
