Reeseville Man Guilty In Connection To Stabbing Incident

(Reeseville) A Reeseville man was found guilty Wednesday on charges that he stabbed another person in the village. Jose Damian Pineda entered a no contest plea to a felony count of First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety Use of a Dangerous Weapon. Two additional felonies were dismissed but read into the record.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to 404 Lincoln Avenue in August. Damian Pineda was located wielding a knife and was taken into custody. Authorities quickly learned that there was a victim who suffered three serious, but non-life-threatening, stab wounds to the head and neck area.

Damian Pineda told authorities he was drunk and angry, and admitted to drinking an alcoholic beverage before the attack. When Damian Pineda was asked by investigators if his intent was to kill the victim, he reportedly said (quote) “I’m not sure if it was, I’m now sure if it wasn’t.”

The 22-year-old continued to say, “I’m not sure what went through my head when I did it, I just did it.” A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered and Damian Pineda is due back in court on March 28th.
