(Dodge County) Regional jobless claims stayed relatively level in the last month of 2023.
The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.3-percent which is a one-tenth of a percent improvement from the month prior. Last year, the number was 1.9-percent. Dodge County jumped five spots in the statewide unemployment ranking to ninth.
Columbia County’s jobless numbers stayed the same in December at 2.3-percent. The figure last year was also 1.9-percent.
Jefferson County’s unemployment rate fell a tenth of a percent to 2.5 in the twelfth month 2023. A year ago, the number was two-percent.
Fond du Lac County went from 2.3-percent in November to 2.2-percent in December. Their figure last year was 1.8-percent.
Statewide, the unemployment rate was 3.3-percent. The labor force increased by 2,200 workers and employment jumped by 1,700 in December.
