(Watertown) City leaders in Watertown say significant progress is being made in the construction of a new fire station. To facilitate work on the water main tie-in and sanitary sewer connection for the station, Bernard Street will be temporarily closed from Fairview Drive to County Highway A/Milford Street.
The closure will begin on June 18th at 7am and is expected to continue until June 19th at 6pm. Watertown officials say during this period, access to businesses and the apartment complex in the area will remain open. They note that to ensure smooth traffic flow, a detour will be established.
The detour route will guide vehicles along Milford Street to West Milwaukee Street and then to South Church Street. Watertown official apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate citizens’ understanding and cooperation as they work to enhance the community’s infrastructure.
