(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Fire Department is highlighting a few safety precautions when it comes to burning in the city this summer. For starters, people can have recreational fires, or fires confined in portable pits or mobile capsules that will contain the flames.
These fires must be 15 feet away from a surface or structure, on a non-combustible surface and non-treated drywood. Fire Chief Michael Wesle says this could end up being a nuisance to neighbors and may warrant a call.ย
โThe biggest thing that we get complaints about with open burning is somebody thatโs burning brush or burning something green,โ Wesle says. โIf that is the case and somebody calls it in, you might see us show up.โย ย
