(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller recommends getting the new COVID booster shot before the holidays sneak up on us. The CDC is recommending one dose of an updated COVID vaccine for everyone five years of age or older.
Children ages six months to four years need multiple doses of COVID vaccines to be up-to-date, including at least one dose of updated COVID vaccine. Mueller says the latest COVID booster will protect people against the latest variants of the disease.
She recommends getting vaccinated at least a couple weeks before the holidays so your body can build up the antibodies needed for proper protection. It is estimated that over four million Americans have already received the latest COVID booster.ย ย
