(Wisconsin) Ohio congressman Jim Jordan on Thursday was seeking a third vote to become House Speaker. Wisconsin 6th District Republican Glenn Grothman voted for Jordan twice, but was opposed to a third attempt.
“There is no Plan B. I wish they would give Steve Scalise from Louisiana another chance because apparently he only missed by two or three votes when he tried the last time,” says Grothman. “Otherwise, I think I’ll be opening things up looking for a senior statesman type to take the job.”
Grothman also felt Arkansas Congressman James “French” Hill might be another name worth considering for the Speaker’s role. It’s been two weeks since Kevin McCarthy was ousted as Speaker, and the House cannot pass any legislation until a replacement is elected.
