Hundreds of Cattle Narrowly Escape Fire

(TOWN OF HERMAN) About 600 cows near Iron Ridge are still alive, thanks to firefighters’ quick action.

Iron Ridge firefighters were first on the scene on County Road S in the Town of Herman at 9:50 Wednesday morning. They found a tractor with a full tank of gas completely on fire.

The tractor was only 15 feet from a large barn full of hundreds of cattle. Firefighters from Hustisford and Neosho helped put it out. The barn was not damaged too badly. No people or cows were injured.
