(Fall River) Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a motorcycle accident that took the life of a Fall River man Friday night. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call just after 9:30 about a motorcycle in the ditch on County Highway D just outside the village of Fall River.
A police officer arrived about four minutes after the call and began life saving measures. The 50-year-old man died at the scene.
Investigators say the motorcycle was heading west on Highway D and as it approached CD, the operator lost control and entered a ditch. He was ejected from the bike and the motorcycle and driver came to rest in a drainage ditch along the side of a farm field.
