(Markesan) Republican State Representative Alex Dallman says he’s pleased with what the Joint Finance Committee was able to accomplish in their recent executive session.
The budget writing committee included over $228-million-dollars in additional special education funding. The state lawmaker from Markesan says that is something they consistently heard about during public listening sessions on the budget.
State Superintendent of Schools Jill Underly was critical of the Republican lawmakers on the JFC saying the budget they approved raises property taxes, doesn’t support students with disabilities and cuts youth mental health funding.
