Dodge County Tree Sale Program Underway

(Juneau) Trees and shrubs are still available to purchase thru the Dodge County Land and Water Conservation Department’s annual tree and shrub sale. Several species of trees and shrubs are available for sale including: Red Oak, White Oak, Swamp White Oak, Burr Oak, Sugar Maple, White Spruce, Colorado Blue Spruce, White Cedar, White Pine, Tamarack, Fraser Fir, Red Osier Dogwood, American Highbush Cranberry, Hazelnut, Elderberry, Shagbark Hickory, American Plum, and new this year – Black Spruce. Trees and shrubs are sold in bundles of 25 with prices varying. The only exception is the Shagbark Hickory which comes in a bundle of ten. John Bohonek with the Dodge County Land and Water Conservation Department says they sell anywhere from 20-to-23-thousand trees a year with 2021 numbers projected to reach 25-thousand. He says the pandemic is a cause for the increase. Orders for trees and shrubs are being taken from now until January 31st.
