(Juneau) Dodge County authorities would like to remind motorists about the dangers of operating a vehicle while intoxicated this holiday season. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says he sees too many fatal accidents or people getting hurt.
โThey donโt really recognize that theyโre not just putting themselves in harmโs way, or the people that are in their car, but itโs everybody else on the highway,โ says Schmidt.
Schmidt says the department has a zero-tolerance policy.
โIf youโve been drinking and your ability to drive is impaired, you are going to be arrested and taken into jail,โ Schmidt says. โ[The] holidays are coming up, thereโs going to be parties, find a designated driver.โ
The sheriff says there is no excuse now when people can easily find someone to drive them home.ย ย
