(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam Loaves and Fishes is hosting an informational session on Food Insecurity in Dodge County. The event is in collaboration with Second Harvest Media and is taking place on Tuesday, December 3rd from 6:15pm to 7:15pm at First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Kristopher Tazelaar, Second Harvest Media and Public Relations Representative will present information on Food Insecurity in Dodge County. Kristopher will present for 30 minutes and there will be 30 minutes to ask questions and share comments. December 3rd is a Tuesday night, and the presentation will be after serving the meal, at First Lutheran Church.
Organizer John Smedema says Second Harvest is a major food donor in the state.
“In the time that we’ve been in operation we’ve gotten nearly 80 thousand pounds of food from them…They cover a 16-county area…Since 1986 they’ve distributed 256 million pounds.”
Loaves and Fishes serves a weekly hot meal every Tuesday to anyone who wants one with no income requirement, all are welcome. Last week, the group served 780 meals. First Lutheran Church is located at 311 W Mackie Street in Beaver Dam.
