(Columbus) The Columbus Council have amended a contract related to the 2024 Street and Utility Construction with Forest Landscaping and Construction Incorporated. This is a final adjustment and project close out documents that lower the total contract by $30,617 to $1,246,780.
City Engineer Jason Lietha contributes the reduced contract cost to a good contractor and great support from city staff.
“Just a pretty well-run project throughout in my opinion,” says Lietha. “We were able to do a little bit more than what we originally planned, that why we had change order 1 in there of this project. Bu there was obviously some quantities at the end that were under what we had originally planned or estimated during the design.”
Lietha says the project was on track to be completed in August, and the contractors had to start a little later due to scheduling conflicts, timing, and being a very wet spring.
