(Cambria) The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after threats were made against the Cambria-Friesland School District. School officials were notified last Thursday evening that a student claimed they were intending to shoot up the school and/or place explosive materials in the building’s basement Friday.
The suspect student was located in Fond du Lac County and authorities checked residences in Dodge County for any evidence connected to the threats. Portions of the school were searched, and no bombs or weapons were located.
Sheriff’s deputies were at Cambria-Friesland throughout the day Friday to provide extra security. Authorities say because the incident involves a juvenile offender no additional information will be released at this time.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office as well as police departments in Randolph and Waupun assisted.
