(Mackford) A person was killed in a vehicle versus semi head-on collision Friday in Green Lake County. Deputies were called to Highway Q south of Highway X in the town of Mackford around 3pm.
Authorities say a sedan was heading northbound on Q while a tractor trailer was traveling south. The sedan suddenly entered the southbound lane and struck the semi head-on.
The 41-year-old male operator of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene while the 37-year-old male driver of the tractor trailer was transported to Waupun Hospital with minor injuries. UW Med Flight was requested but was canceled prior to arrival.
Highway Q was closed for roughly six hours and reopened shortly before 9pm.
The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Patrol.
