(Beaver Dam) State Representative and Beaver Dam Republican Mark Born was recently renamed co-chair of the Joint-Finance Committee. Born says he appreciates receiving another opportunity to lead the committee.
โItโs the committee thatโs [both] responsible for the budget. I think thatโs what weโre most known for is working on the budget document,โ says Born. โBut really for all spending and revenue matters that come before the legislature runs through that committee.โ
Born says it is a joint committee between the senate and the assembly.
โItโs got 16 members,โ Born says. โThere are six members from each house on the majority side and then two members from each house on the minority side, and all the leaders of both houses have in the last ten days or so have announced all the team members now. And so, I am re-appointed co-chair in the Assembly and Senator [Howard] Marklein returns as the co-chair in the Senate.โ
Born says he is looking forward to collaborating with Senator Marklein as they have worked together before. Assemblyman Tony Kurtz is the new Assembly Vice-Chair.
