5-Stones Dodge County Receives Grant Dollars From BDACF

(Beaver Dam) A local organization that fights against sex trafficking has received a grant from the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation. 5-Stones of Dodge County which achieves its mission through awareness, prevention, education, networking, and collaboration was awarded a $500 check.

5-Stones Founder Tracy Scheffler says they offer educational presentations regarding sex trafficking as well as social media and sextortion. She adds that they strongly believe that education leads to prevention and helps keep the community as well as its youth safe.

The grant dollars will contribute to 5-Stonesโ€™ initiative for Januaryโ€™s National Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month. It will also go towards a speaker event in March at the Beaver Dam High School on the dangers of sextortion.

The guest speaker will be John DeMay, whose son took his own life in desperation after being exploited online. Scheffler says they thank the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation for its grant award as they continue to fight the good fight against this criminal activity in local communities.
