Beaver Dam Prohibits Vaping In Public Places, Workplaces

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council Monday night added vaping to its smoking ordinance. In 2010, the council adopted a smoking ban mirroring changing at the statewide level, essentially allowing the city to keep any money collected from fines. The ordinance prohibits the use of smoking cigarettes, cigars — and now vaping devices and other electronic delivery systems – in public places along with bars, restaurants and workplaces. The council vote was ten-to-three for the updated changes championed by the Dodge County Blue Zones Project. In voting no, Alderman Ken Anderson indicated that private businesses should be allowed to make the decision for themselves.
