WRMC Earns Baby-Friendly Designation

(Watertown) Watertown Regional Medical Center recently announced that they achieved the prestigious international Baby-Friendly designation. Hospital officials say this came after a rigorous review process conducted by Baby-Friendly USA; the organization responsible for issuing this certification in the United States.

Director of Womenโ€™s Health at Watertown Regional Medical Center Megan Wierschke says they are extremely proud to be recognized for the hard work of their team members throughout the Baby-Friendly process. She adds that they have long been a recognized leader in the care of woman and newborns, most recently receiving the โ€˜Top Maternity Hospitalโ€™ recognition by Newsweek.

The Watertown facility joins a growing list of more than 20,000 Baby-Friendly hospitals and birth centers throughout the world, 595 of which are in the United States, with only 12 being in Wisconsin.

In addition to achieving the Baby-Friendly designation, Watertown Regional Medical Center welcomed two new OB-GYNโ€™s to the Center for Womenโ€™s Health. Dr. Kaci Axelson and Dr. Melissa Nehls started on September 1st and are now accepting appointments.
