(Ripon) The Wisconsin State Patrol has identified the Waupun man killed in a two-vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County Thursday morning. State troopers and first responders were called to Highway 26 at Hickory Road near Ripon around 3:30am.
A preliminary investigation shows that an attached semi-truck tractor was traveling northbound on 26 when it crossed left of center, striking a southbound passenger van.
The operator of the van, 59-year-old Paul Moore of Waupun, was fatally injured as a result of the crash. The operator of the semi, 29-year-old Raj Kumar from California, was not injured.
Authorities say both individuals were wearing their seatbelts. The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash, which will include a post-crash inspection of the semi and a reconstruction of the entire crash scene.
