Wayland’s Commencement Ceremony Is Sunday

(Beaver Dam) Wayland Academy is holding its commencement ceremony this weekend. The coed college preparatory school in Beaver Dam is honoring 42 students from 12 different countries.

Head of School Jason Warnick will preside over the ceremony, with remarks from several students including Class of 2023 Valedictorian Lam โ€œAlbertโ€ Ho of Vietnam. Salutatorians John โ€œJebโ€ Blossom of Fish Creek and Alanna Schuett of Beaver Dam as well as Student Council President Emre Kocer of Istanbul, Turkey will also share a few words.

The 2023 Commencement ceremony will be held on the Wayland campus in Lindsay Auditorium Sunday, May 21st, beginning at 11am. Special honors for academics, athletics, and character will be awarded during the ceremony.

There are events taking place on campus beginning Friday, May 19th leading up to graduation that will honor the senior class. School officials say if you hear the Victory Bell ringing feel free to cheer or honk your horn to join in the celebration.

This yearโ€™s 42 graduating seniors come to Beaver Dam from Costa Rica, Dominica, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, Vietnam, and the United States.
