Waupun Post 210 Heading To Single-A Legion State Tournament

The Waupun Post 210 American Legion baseball team blew through their Single-A Regional this weekend to earn another trip to the state tournament.  On Friday, Post 210 took down Horicon 7-1, then on Saturday, rolled by Belleville 8-2 before taking the Regional title with a 16-0 win over Horicon.   In the title contest, Waupun scored four runs in the 1st, one in the 2nd and five in the 3rd and 5th innings to earn a bid into the state tournament.   In the Regional clinching win, Noah Gerritson went 2×4 with two RBI, Dane Stelsel also drove in three.  Austin Weisse knocked in a pair as did Chase Beahm, who also doubled. Gerritson struck out eight on his way to the complete game win.

Waupun (19-4) will face St. Mary’s Springs at 5pm on Friday in the first round of the American Legion Single-A State Tournament in Viroqua.
