The Beaver Dam Post 146 White Construction 19U American Legion baseball team picked up a pair of wins on Sunday at stay alive in their AA Regional at the BDHS Diamond on Sunday. In Game 1, James Westover’s walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th scored Ben Scharfenberg to give Post 146 a 7-6 win over Lomira-Theresa. Scharfenberg and Evan Sharkey each doubled in the win. Westover finished the day 2×4 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Ethan Cole clubbed a pair of home runs and drove in three for Lomira-Theresa. Kyler Keel picked up the win in relief of Boston Damon. Matt Shelvan took the loss for L/T.

In Game 2, a five run 6th inning lifted Beaver Dam to an 11-5 win over Baraboo. Kaleb Schmuhl struck out 10 in six-plus innings of work to earn the victory. Westover, Alex Soto and Logan Thomas all drove in two runs in the win.
Beaver Dam (15-6) will host Baraboo on Monday night at 5pm in winner take all final game of their Regional. The regional champ heads to the Wisconsin American Legion Double-A State Tournament next weekend in Fort Atkinson.
