(Waupun) A Waupun man has been arrested for assaulting a minor. Investigators with the Waupun Police Department learned of the alleged crimes in January. A 33-year-old man was accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female from Rubicon.
Authorities learned that the suspect was grooming the victim and later received additional complaints about the inappropriate relationship from other concerned citizens.
On February 17th, the victim and the suspect were contacted at the victim’s residence in rural Dodge County. Through subsequent interviews, investigators discovered that sexual contact occurred more than once and that the victim and suspect were alleged to be engaged without the consent of the victim’s parents.
The suspect was taken into custody and is facing charges of Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and Child Enticement. He is being held at the Dodge County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
