213 COVID-19 Cases Reported At Waupun Correctional

(Waupun) The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is reporting that Waupun Correctional has had 213 inmates test positive for coronavirus along with 15 employees. No other state prison has more than 18 positive tests as of Friday afternoon. There have been twelve negative tests returned while six are still pending.

Dodge Correctional in Waupun tested over 1500 employees and inmates and, while there are still 1362 tests pending, 220 tests have already come back negative. As of Friday, 1,900 specimens have been collected at Dodge Correctional while nearly 1,000 specimens have been collected at Waupun Correctional. The Wisconsin National Guard has been collecting samples at the two prisons since May 26th.

Fox Lake Correctional has administered six tests with five coming back negative, one test is still pending and one staff member tested positive.

Columbia Correctional had two inmates and four employees test positive.

John Burke Correctional has tested six inmates, two came back negative with four tests still pending.
