(Waupun) Officials with the state Department of Corrections say an inmate at Waupun Correctional Institution had to be airlifted to a hospital. It happened on Tuesday around 11am.
The 44-year-old inmate jumped from one of the tiers in the cell hall. According to the DOC, prison staff rushed to the man and he was taken to Waupun Memorial Hospital. He was then flown to another medical facility for treatment.
Due to federal privacy rules, information on the man’s condition could not be released.
