(Beaver Dam) The man accused of kidnapping a pregnant teen from Beaver Dam was booked into the Dodge County Jail Wednesday. According to court records, Gary Day was jailed around 5:16pm.
The 40-year-old is facing multiple felony charges in Dodge County including Abduction of a Child and Child Enticement. Day is slated to make his initial court appearance Thursday.
Law enforcement officials say Day and 17-year-old Sophia Franklin first met online last year. In February, an Amber Alert was issued after Day reportedly kidnapped Franklin from her home in Beaver Dam. A months-long, nationwide search ensued and ended when a truck driver located the pair near Omaha, Nebraska on April 2nd.
Day was facing misdemeanor charges in Nebraska, but it is being reported that those charges were dropped to help expedite his return to Wisconsin.
