Waupun Celebrating National Parks And Recreation Month Throughout July

(Waupun) Throughout the month of July, the city of Waupun is celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month. This year’s theme is “Where Community Grows” and there will be several activities and programs at local parks in the community. Every Monday at West End Park at 1:30pm there is a program in collaboration with Wisconsin Ag in the Classroom called “Ag in the Park.”

This educational opportunity helps children learn how their food is grown and raised. Also at West End Park, there will be an ice cream social sponsored by Culver’s from 5pm to 6pm on Tuesday July 11. Other events and activities include a free yoga session for all ages at Harris Mill Park on July 27 at 10:30am.

Also at Harris Mill Park, an afternoon of fun is planned on Tuesday July 18 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm with carnival games featuring a variety of outdoor games. City Park Passports are available for purchase at the Waupun Senior Center to participate in a scavenger hunt. Completed passports must be handed in by July 28.

Finally, a pair of free events are occurring, first with the “Storyboard Walk” featuring the story “Up the Creek” and Park Bingo on July 25 at 1:30pm. A link to more information, including a schedule of events can be found HERE.
