(Watertown) A Watertown man has been elected to the 2023 Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin Board of Directors. Mark Crave was elected to the District 19 seat, which represents both Dodge and Columbia counties.
Crave, of Crave Brothers Farm, began his diary career in 1988 and milks roughly 2,200 cows. He says a spot on the Diary Farmers of Wisconsin board allows him to gain insight and have input on strategy for leveraging producersโ investment into increased consumption of the stateโs wonderful dairy products.
There were 14 certified candidates running for nine board member positions. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says of the 2,704 dairy producers living in affected districts, 12.3-percent returned ballots.
The election closed May 23. The elected diary producers will begin a three-year term on July 1st.
