Voters Approve Beaver Dam School District Referendum

Beaver Dam School district voters approved a $107 million dollar referendum question on Tuesday. The money will be used to construct a new middle building allowing for more spacious classrooms, improved technical education, as well as collaboration spaces dedicated for physical education, a fitness center, and outdoor practice fields.

The referendum also covers upgrades to Washington Elementary School with additional classrooms to accommodate Wilson Elementary students. District-wide safety projects are on the docket as well including improvements to drop-off and pick-up areas and overall site safety.

The referendum has a tax impact of $1.20 per one-thousand-dollars of assessed value. The question was approved with over 52% of the vote. Five-hundred-and-sixty-eight people who voted did not put down a yes or no vote on their ballot.
