Dodge County Clerk Talks Election Night

(Juneau) The Dodge County Clerk Danielle J. Van Egtern says there were no major issues in Tuesday’s election. The large number of absentee ballots submitted in Beaver Dam, Watertown, Horicon, and Juneau made for longer processing times in those cities.

Some minor problems such as long lines and lack of parking at a few polling locations were reported. The clerk said overall, the turnout in Dodge County was very strong.

“It was a great turnout, the numbers are much higher than we had foreseen them coming in to be which is great. That means we did our job in making sure that we got the word out and encouraged everybody to get out there and do their civic duty.”

Van Egtern noted the number of in-person absentee ballots submitted in 2024, superseded those submitted in the 2020 election. In total, over 50-thousand votes were cast in Dodge County.
