UW – Extension Dodge County Highlighting Dairy Surveys

(Dodge County) A representative of UW – Extension who serves the Dodge County area is highlighting two important dairy surveys. Bi-lingual Regional Dairy Educator Alison Pfau recently joined Community Comment. She says they are seeking participants to help with the nutrition studies.

Pfau elaborated on the variance between both surveys. “It’s two different surveys.” She said. “One survey is to gain a better understanding of what the most common feeding practices are in Wisconsin right now in high production Holstein heard. And also in the other, the second one is to focus more in the robotic milking heard nutritional management.”

One specific aspect of the study is to see how special feed could mitigate greenhouse gas, as well as methane, and how it affects milk and dairy production. They created this study last year to get more data to understand all points. The results of these surveys will be used for educational purposes. All information will be anonymous, no names will be used in the database. To register for the surveys, click HERE
