(Wisconsin) Wisconsin Congressmen Mark Pocan and Glenn Grothman applaud the National Park Service for designating the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and North Country National Scenic Trail as units of the National Park System.
This new status will increase funding and improve maintenance for the Wisconsin-based National Scenic Trails, and include them on official National Park Service maps. Congressman Grothman says, “As a lifelong Wisconsinite, I am proud to be from a state with such a beautiful natural environment.”
The two Congressmen fought to have the trails designated as National Scenic Trails for years, including by introducing legislation last Congress to change their unit status.
