(Dodge County) Two more Coronavirus related deaths were reported in Dodge County. This brings the total number of confirmed deaths to 182 while 25 are still probable. There was no change in the number of active community cases in yesterday’s (Thursday’s) update by county health officials while three hospitalizations were reported. The seven-day daily average of new cases per 100-thousand people has gone down over the last week-and-a-half and now stands at 24.6, the rate was at 35.5 last Monday. Aspirus Health System Senior Vice-President Jeff Wicklander says (quote) “probably 95-percent” of COVID patients admitted in recent weeks are unvaccinated – and they are seeing more younger people as well. Wicklander also says about half of the Aspirus System’s COVID patients are in the ICU and reiterates that the best way to protect yourself is by getting vaccinated.
