(Markesan) Seven men, including three from Markesan, were sentenced Thursday to federal prison for child sex trafficking in Green Lake County. Those three defendants include 29-year-old Samuel Corado, 21-year-old Oscar Corado, and 37-year-old Abilio Gonzalez.
Samuel Corado was given just over two years in prison while Oscar was sentenced to two years. Gonzalez will also serve just over two years behind bars. According to court documents on multiple dates between June and November of 2019, one of the defendants – Julio Veleta of Sun Prairie, transported the 16-year-old victim who was in foster care in Madison, between Dane and Green Lake counties for her to perform commercial sex acts for dairy farm workers.
Another defendant, Evis Rivera of Manchester, both paid for sex with the victim and promoted her availability for commercial sex within the Guatemalan national farm worker community in Green Lake County. Eventually, the victim began living with Rivera and several of the other defendants would “loan” the victim to other groups of farm workers in the area.
The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office uncovered this conspiracy on Thanksgiving night in 2019, when the victim called 911. Several subjects were arrested that night at the house where the victim had been living, while others were arrested in different locations following further investigation.
Avelino Sarceno of Manchester and Belter Bautista of Brandon were also sentenced.
