(Theresa) The village of Theresa has new leadership atop their police department. The village board recently hired Dan Marcus to serve as part-time chief. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt had been serving as acting police chief since last June. He says he is excited for the new chief’s vision and understanding of law enforcement.
“He actually started his career at Chicago PD, then he came up and worked at State Fair Police for a while and now as taking on role of police chief,” says Schmidt.
Schmidt says that he is happy for Marcus to be part of the county and says he will do great things for Theresa. He adds that he looks forward to being a great resource for him.
“Like I tell every chief, the sheriff’s office is there as a resource for any police department,” Schmidt says. “My resources are their resources and I look forward to having a great partnership with him.”
Marcus officially began his duties on December 18.
