(FOND DU LAC) A teenager is fighting serious injuries after a motorcycle crash sent him down a ravine in Fond du Lac County Tuesday evening.
Deputies say the 18-year-old from Fond du Lac lost control while riding east on Golf Course Drive in the Town of Taycheedah around 6:54 p.m.
When first responders arrived, they found him about 30 yards down in a ravine, unconscious but still breathing. A medical helicopter was called in, and he was flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
Investigators say the motorcycle veered into a ditch, hit a culvert and trees, then flipped before coming to rest at the bottom of the ravine. The rider was wearing a helmet.
Golf Course Drive was shut down for about 45 minutes between Highway 151 and Red Fox Run as crews worked at the scene.
Speed appears to be a factor, and the crash is still under investigation.
