(Beaver Dam) The Swingin’ Beavers Square Dance Club is always looking for new members to join. Square dancing is a social dance with English, French, and Scots-Irish roots brought to America by the 13 colonies. Beaver Dam Chamber President Tracy Propst encourages the community to come out.
“I’m gonna give a phone number,” says Propst. “Bonnie Sweeney is a great contact for information on the Swingin’ Beavers, and her phone number is 608-831-0341, or call the Chamber and we can give that again.”
Propst says that they were recently at Beaver Dam Pepper Fest.
“I’m just amazed,” Propst says. “You know, it’s a great way to stay young.”
The organization gives square dancing lessons every Thursday at Wilson Elementary School from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
