State Guard Collects Roughly 1,300 Specimens During COVID-19 Testing At Two Local Prisons

(Waupun) The Wisconsin National Guard has collected roughly 1,300 specimens combined at two local prisons during their ongoing operation to test for coronavirus. A press release issued Wednesday says two teams collected 350 specimens at Dodge Correctional in Waupun while another two teams collected nearly 1,000 specimens at nearby Waupun Correctional. According to figures from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, no state prison has had more inmates test positive for coronavirus than Waupun Correctional with 32, 35 are negative while seven staff members have tested positive. Fox Lake Correctional saw all five of their tests come back negative for inmates but one staff member did test positive. Columbia Correctional had two inmates and four employees test positive. Dodge Correctional has reported zero positive tests amongst inmates as of Wednesday afternoon with 220 testing negative. John Burke Correctional had two tests administered and both came back negative.
