(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting an increase of 599 cases of COVID-19 in Wednesday’s daily update. The two-week daily average is 436 new infections. There is a total of 16,462 people now having tested positive. Five-point-eight-percent (5.8%) of the roughly 9700 tests administered came back positive on Wednesday, compared to 3.6-percent on Tuesday and Monday’s 4.1-percent. State public health officials reported 22 new deaths bringing the total to 539. Dodge County reported four new cases, for a total of 166, with one death on record. The county had 50 negative tests returned for a total of 2,793. The state public health website continues to list active investigations at two Dodge County nursing homes: Bedrock HCS in Beaver Dam and the Waupun Christian Home in Waupun. Fond du Lac County now has four deaths being reported and 185 people having tested positive. Washington County has experienced four deaths to date with 212 people testing positive. Jefferson County has reported three deaths and has a total of 92 cases. There has been one death in Columbia County and 40 positive cases. Green Lake County now has 16 cases. Statewide, there have been 2,362 people requiring hospitalizations, which is 15-percent of those known to have contracted the virus.
