(Waupun) SSM Health Memorial Hospital in Waupun is introducing an outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation program beginning on March 11. Pulmonary rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with pulmonary concerns including chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, respiratory symptoms and recover faster and live healthier.
The program includes exercise, education, counseling and support for patients and their families. Services will be provided by Waupun Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab staff and respiratory therapists who will evaluate each individual to determine personal needs and limitations.
The information will then be used by employees to tailor a program to meet a patient’s specific needs and help set goals. Education and counseling will also be provided by professionals on topics including breathing strategies, respiratory devices, and medications.
