SSM Health Modifying Visitor Guidelines As COVID Cases Surge

(Waupun) SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac Region are modifying their visitor guidelines as COVID cases increase. The health care provider, with facilities in Waupun and Fond du Lac, say their buildings continue to see dramatic increases in COVID hospitalizations and positive tests. To help protect their vulnerable patients, SSM Health say they are modifying visitor protocols.

Starting Monday, patients can designate one visitor only for the duration of their stay. There will only be one primary support person in the Woman and Infants wing. No visitors for COVID positive patients. Compassionate care exceptions may be made in end-of-life situations. Visitors must be over the age of 18 and everyone will be asked to complete a screening prior to entry. Masks will be required during the duration of a visit.

St. Agnes Hospital President Katherine Vergos says by significantly reducing visitors coming into their facilities they will be able to greatly limit potential exposure keeping patients, caregivers, and providers safe.

The new guidelines apply to all locations, including clinics and hospitals. They do not apply to long-term care facilities.
