(Beaver Dam) After months of construction and anticipation, the grand opening of the splash pad at Swan Park in Beaver Dam occurred last night. The occasion was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Beaver Dam Mayor Becky Glewen was on hand to witness and says it is a big deal for the community.
โItโs really fun to be out here listening to the kids laughing and screaming and having a good time splashing each other,โ says Glewen. โCertainly, itโs just a great way to showcase our community.โ
Glewen says that Swan Park has a great historical background, and the splash pad is an investment for future generations in Beaver Dam.
โThis is so great because itโs just every single age group, every ability, easy to get in and out and such, but also the cost,โ Glewen says. โI mean, quite honestly, something like this thatโs so popular, and for about $2 million.”
Glewen says that while $2 million dollars is a lot to spend on a splash pad, a pool brings extra costs to the table.
