RV Resort Fire Destroys Shed In Watertown

(Watertown) The Watertown Fire Department responded to a shed fire housing equipment and machinery at Rivers Bend RV Resort late Tuesday night. Investigators say the cause of the fire originated from hot coals that were discarded in a dumpster near the shed.
The fire spread rapidly and as a result, the shed itself and all its contents were destroyed. Cost estimates for the building are $250,000 dollars in damages and $550,000 dollars in damages for the equipment and other contents.
The Watertown Fire Department urges everyone to follow some basic steps to ensure something like this doesnโ€™t happen including letting the coals cool down, using dedicated disposal containers, and soaking coals with water.
