Rogers Pleas in Initial Court Appearance

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man charged with possessing illicit content of children had cash bond set at $10,000 during his initial appearance in court. Adam Rogers is facing 11 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Rogers, who was on probation for being convicted of the same crime, is alleged to have numerous illegal pictures and videos on his cellphone. According to the complaint, a probation officer was searching Rogers phone to make sure he did not have any social media accounts on it when they saw what they suspected to be child pornography. A warrant was granted and investigators reportedly said that, in their estimation, there were over 10,000 photos on Rogersโ€™ phone of young girls. They noted that not all of them meet the statutory definition of child pornography and some can be described as erotica. Rogers was sentenced to 10 years in prison following his conviction of Possession of Child Pornography in 2015 and was just released from prison in April. If convicted again, the 42-year-old faces up to 275 years in prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 27th.
