(Waupun) A reshuffling in the state prison system was announced Wednesday. Jason Benzel will be the new warden of Dodge Correctional Institution next month after serving the past two years at Lincoln Hills, the state’s troubled teen prison. Corrections Secretary Kevin Carr tells the Journal Sentinel that the move comes in part because of the retirement of current Dodge Correctional Warden William Pollard.
Meanwhile, Waupun Warden Brian Foster is now the security chief for the entire prison system. Fox Lake Warden Randy Hepp will replace Foster at Waupun Correctional while Security Chief Larry Fuchs becomes warden at Columbia Correctional. Redgranite Correction Warden Michael Meisner will be the new warden at Fox Lake. Columbia Correctional Warden Susan Novak is heading to Redgranite.
Carr says the moves are intended to make the department more efficient while helping each warden’s professional growth.
