(Dodge County) Regional jobless claims increased in the first month of 2025.
The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 3.1-percent in January, a seven-tenths of percent jump from December. Last year, the number was 2.6-percent. Dodge County also fell four spots in the statewide unemployment ranking to 12th.
Fond du Lac Countyโs December unemployment was 2.6-percent, in January it was 3.3-percent. Last year, the rate was 2.5-percent.
Columbia Countyโs month-to-month jobless numbers went from 2.5-percent to 3.3-percent. A year ago, the figure was 2.7-percent.
Jefferson Countyโs unemployment rate saw an eight-tenths of a percent increase, going to 3.3-percent in January. The number in 2024 was 2.7-percent.
Statewide, the unemployment rate was 3.2-percent and the number of unemployed people in January was 101,000.
